Adrian Public Schools aims to provide a dynamic, relevant, and rigorous global curriculum in a safe environment that fosters imagination, problem-solving, teamwork, and innovation. The district's goals for 2019 include enhancing math instruction and guided reading in elementary schools, engaging all learners and increasing rigor in middle schools, and reviewing course offerings and enhancing professional learning communities in high school. District-wide initiatives focus on improving curriculum mapping, enhancing student leadership opportunities, implementing restorative practices, exploring community recreation programs, and continuing the implementation of the APS "Game Plan" for Athletics.

The Adrian Public Schools MICIP Portfolio Report details a multi-year strategic plan (2021-2025) focused on improving state assessment proficiency levels. The plan addresses challenges in student achievement, particularly in English Language Arts and Mathematics, across elementary and secondary schools. Strategies include improving direct interactive instruction, implementing the Fountas and Pinnell literacy program, providing instructional coaching, utilizing Math Strategic Intervention Solutions, aligning curriculum and assessments, implementing leveled literacy interventions, establishing a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), developing a Portrait of a Graduate, and implementing 23g tutoring and intensive individualized support programs, as well as expanded learning time and career pathways. The plan aims to increase average proficiency by 6% by 2024 in all subject areas, improve student engagement, and address learning loss from the COVID-19 pandemic. Funding sources include Title I, Title II, Title IV, 31a at-risk funds, general funds, and other state and federal funds. The plan includes ongoing monitoring and adjustment based on data analysis and interim target measures.
