The Student Health Advisory Committee meeting included updates on school nutrition, emphasizing adherence to meal guidelines and Smart Snack standards. The district nursing staff was updated with two Registered Nurses at Raymond Mays Middle School and Troy Elementary School. The District Wellness Policy, allowing five school days for class parties with outside food, was discussed. Results from a student survey on tobacco, drug, and alcohol usage were shared to track trends and influence policy. The use of Title I funds for homeless students and Title IV funds for health curriculum like Living Well Aware was reviewed, along with parent/family engagement policy input.
