City Of Newton Traffic Council Traffic Council Actions

The Council reviewed and acted on several traffic and parking regulation requests. Key items included the approval of new Blue Zone parking regulations on Park Street and Vernon Street, and the denial of a request to remove No Turn on Red signs at the intersection of Oak Street and Chestnut Street. The Council also held items for trials regarding parking regulations on Chestnut Street and various streets surrounding Newton South High School, such as Roosevelt Road, Brandeis Road, Littlefield Road, and Greenwood Street, aimed at improving access for emergency and service vehicles. Other requests regarding parking on Greenwood Street and Littlefield Road were reviewed with no further action taken.
