The strategic plan for Chicago State University focuses on academic excellence, student success, community engagement, and financial sustainability. The meeting included announcements such as Jacob Werblow being awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to Japan and Michael Zaba receiving the Milken Educator Award. The Connecticut's CEEDAR Leadership Team secured federal funding focused on supporting EPPs and LEAs in developing and sustaining effective, collaborative partnerships to improve the alignment of EPP programs with state teaching standards. The Professional Program Ad Hoc Committee will meet on March 25th to draft proposed professional program admission materials including a revised essay and Likert scale recommendation form. Work will soon be underway to update CTEN's Bylaws to prevent perpetual appointments. The annual end of the academic year Gallery Walk is scheduled for April 25, 2019. Appeals for Fall Student Teaching will be more stringent regarding content knowledge testing requirements. The state level task force on fingerprinting has submitted their final report. The AACTE Connecticut Dean's Group is planning on spending time on the Hill to advocate waiving the $75.00 fee. The Connecticut State Dept. of Education was awarded a 1.1 million dollar grant for 5 years for the four state universities to be the participants. A planning group met to discuss holding a social and emotional learning conference in the spring in conjunction with the Ana Grace Project. The feedback received on the Draft Educator Disposition Assessment will be reviewed by the assessment committee who will be preparing draft implementation recommendations. A PowerPoint was shared of the survey result highlights received from six districts. The Educator Disposition Assessment has been purchased and looking for a couple of faculty in each program willing to pilot this to get it up and running for Fall 2019.

Central Connecticut State University's Strategic Plan 2030 focuses on enhancing academic excellence, increasing access to higher education, fostering an inclusive campus culture, strengthening community engagement, and ensuring financial sustainability. The plan aims to prepare career-ready graduates who are civic-minded and contribute to a diverse society, while advancing social mobility and driving economic, cultural, and intellectual vitality within the communities served. Five key goals are outlined: enhancing academic excellence and preparing graduates for a changing economy; increasing access to higher education and ensuring student success; fostering an inclusive and safe campus culture; strengthening stewardship through scholarship, service learning, and community engagement; and assuring financial sustainability.

The meeting covered various topics including updates on the waiver of testing requirements for the spring 2021 professional program and student teaching applications for fall 2021. Discussions included early field experiences, a teacher fellowship program, and a CAEP update. A presentation on new computer science modules was given. Subcommittee reports focused on partnerships, student support, assessment, and policy and advocacy. The meeting also addressed student advisory boards and financial concerns related to various programs and assessments.

The meeting covered various topics, including edTPA professional development opportunities, a discussion with local superintendents on recruitment and teacher education pipelines, funding for the NNER summer symposium and fall conference, and the upcoming CEEDAR conference. The committee reviewed and discussed an academic standards proposal, and the strategic planning retreat. Updates were provided on the field experience evaluation pilot, the implementation of edTPA, and the piloting of SEED as a student teaching evaluation instrument. The partnership subcommittee reported on collaborations with school districts and plans for future meetings. Finally, the curriculum subcommittee discussed integrating CTEC into the curriculum process.
