Laccd Board Of Trustees Regular Meeting
The meeting involved roll call confirmations and opening proceedings, including a flag salute. A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to public comment, where several representatives spoke in strong support of a resolution (Item G1) to prioritize foster youth in all housing acquired or developed by the district's master leases. Key discussion points included the high rates of homelessness and housing precarity among foster youth transitioning out of care, and the belief that stable housing is foundational to educational equity and success. Following public comment, the board addressed necessary agenda modifications, including moving the foster youth resolution to be the first item of business and addressing a rescheduled event date related to a business agreement.
