School Board Study Session
The study session focused on three ballot questions related to school levies and state funding. The Board discussed the operational levy, which supports staffing and programs, and the capital levy, which is dedicated to equipment and facilities maintenance. Additionally, members reviewed the implications of Statutory Operating Debt and how declining enrollment impacts district revenue and budget projections. The Board also discussed the third ballot question regarding a state trust fund release, emphasizing that the measure would provide additional funding without increasing local taxes, and debated the complexities and limitations of the current state school funding formula.
