The Woodway Forward Comprehensive Plan, adopted on June 10, 2024, serves as a roadmap to shape the community's future and establish a lasting legacy for the City of Woodway. It outlines key strategies for Land Use, Mobility/Transportation, Economic/Fiscal matters, Housing and Neighborhoods, Downtown/Key Focus Areas, Public Infrastructure and Stormwater Management, and Community Facilities. This policy document is designed to guide future development regulations, zoning decisions, and public investments while ensuring fiscal responsibility.

The special meeting included an invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance. Citizens were invited to address the council, but no public comments were offered. The council convened in executive session to consult with the City Attorney regarding contemplated litigation concerning an appeal of a determination made by the City of Woodway's Board of Adjustment. Following the executive session, the council discussed and voted to appeal the December 16, 2025, decision of the Board of Adjustment in Case Number 2025-001, styled In Re Kevin Vranich, and authorized the City Manager and City Attorney to pursue the appeal. Councilmember Sury noted the desire for future training for the Board of Adjustment to prevent confusion regarding ordinance intent.
