The 2026 proposed budget for the Town of Scott and Scott Municipal Utility (SMU) was discussed, covering general property tax, other taxes, special charges, intergovernmental revenues, licenses & permits, fines, public charges for services, and miscellaneous revenue. Expenses for general government, public safety, public works, culture, recreation, parks, conservation and development, and debt services were reviewed. Proposed changes from 2025 to 2026 were analyzed, including tax levy revenues, special assessments, state shared revenue, fire dues insurance, state computer aid, state aid roads, grant coastal management, alcohol beverage license fees, dog license collections, building permits, right-of-way fees, short-term rental license fees, and interest income. The SMU budget changes were also examined, with attention to water and sewer fund revenues and expenses.
