Utah Municipal Power Agency Integrated Resource Plan 2022-2041
The Integrated Resource Plan for Utah Municipal Power Agency serves as a roadmap to provide reliable, sustainable, and least-cost electricity to its member cities. The plan focuses on identifying sufficient generating resources, balancing costs, risks, reliability, and environmental attributes within its energy portfolio, and giving equal consideration to supply-side and demand-side measures. Key strategic areas include expanding renewable energy sources (solar, wind, geothermal), developing energy storage solutions, optimizing natural gas capacity, and exploring carbon-free technologies like Small Modular Reactors and carbon sequestration. Additionally, it emphasizes demand-side management through energy efficiency, outreach, renewables/decarbonization programs, and demand response strategies to reduce coal dependence, lower the carbon footprint, and promote cleaner air.

Utah Municipal Power Agency Integrated Resource Plan 2013-2017
The Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) for Utah Municipal Power Agency serves as a comprehensive roadmap to ensure reliable and least-cost electricity service for its member cities. The plan is structured around four key elements: forecasting future energy and power requirements, examining existing and potential supply-side resources, reviewing and implementing demand-side management (DSM) programs, and outlining a clear action plan. Key goals include identifying sufficient resources for growing demands, balancing costs, risks, reliability, and environmental concerns in the resource portfolio, and fostering public involvement. The plan aims to address future energy needs, replace expiring power purchase contracts, accommodate system growth, and integrate viable DSM initiatives, with a focus on exploring natural gas combined cycle gas turbines (CCGT) and promoting cost-effective renewable energy sources.
