Committee Business Meeting
The committee convened a business meeting to deliberate on S. 5354, the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Modernization Act of 2026. The legislation aims to reauthorize and modernize critical federal housing laws serving Native communities by raising outdated de minimis thresholds, providing technical corrections, and offering tools for lease-to-own pathways and loan guarantees. The committee reviewed the bill, approved an amendment to the legislation, and subsequently agreed to the bill as amended to advance it to the full Senate.
