The commission reviewed two new business items. A proposal to construct a 6-foot fence in a front yard was discussed and ultimately did not receive support from the commission. Additionally, a proposal from Grace Community Church United and Westmoreland Community Action to construct a playground for a pre-kindergarten program in a front yard was reviewed and received unanimous support from the commission, moving the project forward for Zoning Hearing Board approval.

The agenda items include the review of correspondence regarding a loan payment from the City of Lower Burrell and a notification from the Westmoreland Conservation District, authorization for the payment of outstanding invoices for professional services and media, and departmental updates including the Mayor's report, a sewer report regarding PA One Calls, the engineer's report concerning past amendment documentation for PennVest, and the solicitor's report.

The public hearing was held to discuss zoning matters. However, there was no reorganization, old business, or new business presented during the meeting, leading to an immediate adjournment.

The board reviewed Petition #625 submitted by William Enciso, who proposed constructing a detached garage in a side yard. The applicant requested a variance for rear structure restrictions due to sewage lines limiting available buildable space in the backyard. The board approved the variance request with specific stipulations regarding the storage of flammable materials.
