The Holton City Commission meeting on August 16, 2010, approved the minutes of the August 2nd and 6th meetings, passed Appropriation Ordinance #2017 for claims between July 17th and August 2nd, and approved Resolution 10-R001 for updated personnel policies. A special meeting was scheduled for August 19th to adopt the 2011 budget, following a public hearing. The commission also discussed implementing a no-cost credit/debit card processing service and a potential art contest for a new city seal.

The Holton City Commission meeting on July 6, 2010, welcomed new city manager Bret Bauer, approved claims under Appropriation Ordinance #2014, and passed a proclamation for the 20th anniversary of the ADA. Jim Ketron was appointed to the Holton Community Hospital Board. The meeting also noted the completion of the Ohio Street project and the Linscott Park Playground Project.

The city manager reported on upcoming curb and gutter work at the Industrial Park and positive pool attendance figures, totaling $30,989.40 in admissions and concessions.
