The Regular Meeting of the Mayor and Council involved public hearings and proposed adoptions for three ordinances. Ordinance 2025-15 concerned granting a renewal of municipal consent to Comcast for its cable television system, which was adopted. Ordinance 2025-16 proposed repealing and replacing Chapter 4-8 of the Municipal Code concerning trailer parking on Borough Streets, including definitions and parking restrictions for commercial, boat, recreational, and utility trailers; this was also adopted. Ordinance 2025-17 authorized the private sale of a property (Block 25, Lot 11) to adjoining property owners with a minimum offer of $5,000.00, following its foreclosure in 2023. The Council also adopted several resolutions on the Consent Agenda, including one urging the State Legislature to defeat proposed Bill S-4736 regarding land use autonomy, approving the appointment of a new Municipal Court Administrator, authorizing loan and escrow agreements for the Water Meter Replacement Project, approving bond issuance details for the water project, and authorizing a 'Schedule C' Agreement with Ocean County for 2026. Departmental reports highlighted accomplishments in Public Works, such as road paving and water meter installation progress, and commendations for the Police Department's accreditation renewal and response efforts. The Mayor concluded seven years of service.
