Redding City Council Regular Meeting
The Council meeting involved several key discussions and approvals. Presentations were received regarding tourism marketing and the Main Street/Cultural District overlap. The Council authorized numerous administrative and financial items, including funding agreements, property sales, grant applications for tobacco enforcement, vegetation management, and encampment resolution, as well as contracts for engineering services and infrastructure projects. Public hearings were held to adopt the Capital Improvement Plan, the 2026 Water Shortage Contingency Plan, and the 2025 Urban Water Management Plan. Furthermore, the Council addressed the Transient Occupancy Tax, updates on city advisory committees, Air Pollution Control Board membership, the implementation of a Public Safety Power Shutoff program, and the recognition of new employee bargaining units.
