The Board of Trustees held a meeting where the primary topic was a presentation on a regionalization feasibility study for Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School. The consultants from the Mass Association of Regional Schools concluded that there is currently limited interest from sending communities to participate in regionalization and noted that any such district would legally require the involvement of the City of Northampton. The presentation also addressed the city's responsibility for maintaining the Smith campus, including capital upgrades. Recommendations included submitting a Statement of Interest to the Massachusetts School Building Authority for future building renovation or replacement projects and maintaining ongoing communication with state representatives and other stakeholders. Additionally, the Board discussed postponing a school spotlight presentation until the fall.
