The Commissioners Court meeting addressed several key agenda items, including public concerns regarding data center placement and county funding for infrastructure projects. Proclamations were issued for Mental Health Awareness Month, Community Action Month, and Emergency Medical Services Week. The Court discussed and approved a budget amendment for the City Library, a memorandum of understanding for a Texas community block grant, and a division order review for Magnolia Oil and Gas Operating LLC. Additionally, the Court reviewed a ballot for a special election for the TAC health/employee benefits pool and tabled discussions on an interlocal agreement with the City of Kennedy regarding financial assistance for a traffic signal.

The Commissioners Court held a special meeting to discuss and approve a resolution supporting a grant application to the Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program. The purpose of the grant is to assist in the necessary repair of building components at the Karnes County Courthouse that were involved in a previous restoration project.

The Commissioners Court meeting included updates from Coastal Bend College regarding their leadership initiatives, student success programs, and partnership efforts. Additionally, the court acknowledged April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month, approved a building contractor for the HOME program for two new homes, voted to lift the county-wide burn ban, and adopted a resolution expressing concerns regarding the development of large-scale data centers and their potential impact on water resources, grid reliability, and local infrastructure.

The Commissioners Court discussed and approved several items, including the receipt of a donation from GEO Group, the acceptance of a construction bid for the TDHCA home grant reconstruction project, and the extension of the current burn ban by 90 days. The court also tabled a lease agreement with Burlington Resources Oil and Gas Company LP, approved the appointment of a new county family and community health agent, and granted a standard utility easement to American Electric Power for the EMS facility construction. Additionally, the court reviewed a potential purchase offer for a lot bordering the EMS building site.

The court session included the presentation of proclamations for Child Abuse Prevention Month, Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, and Soil and Water Stewardship Week. The court also addressed the update and approval of members for the Karnes County Child Welfare Board, which collaborates with protective services to support children and families in need.
