It focuses on supporting English learners through mentorship, increased literacy training for staff and parents, and culturally responsive instruction. The plan also seeks to improve graduation rates and college/career readiness by identifying credit-deficient students early, clarifying graduation requirements, providing targeted support for vulnerable students, and expanding access to Career Technical Education (CTE) and dual enrollment programs. Furthermore, it emphasizes fostering a positive school climate and student well-being through restorative practices, comprehensive wellness resources, strong relationships, and transparent communication regarding instructional practices, student connection, and safety.

The meeting centered on reviewing the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). Key discussion themes from prior October breakout sessions regarding A-G Completion and Attendance were presented, emphasizing reframing the A-G narrative to highlight skill-building for career readiness and the tangible fiscal impact of attendance on ADA funding. Mini-presentations focused on student wellness, including social-emotional well-being and connectedness, and on initiatives to improve regular school attendance. Committee members conducted a comprehensive data review covering state assessment results (Academic Indicator), ELPAC performance (English Learner Progress Indicator), Graduation Rate, College/Career Indicator, and Suspension/Climate Measures. Breakout groups further discussed these data sets, identifying strategies such as promoting assessment incentives, aligning K-12 standards, expanding restorative practices, increasing literacy support for English Learners, earlier identification of credit-deficient students, and improving messaging regarding A-G benefits for career readiness.
