The City Council convened an emergency meeting to address the declaration of emergency concerning the International Woolen Mill complex. Discussions focused on the rationale behind the partial closure of Heritage Crossing and the restriction of access to the abandoned mill to mitigate public health, fire, and life safety hazards. The Council reviewed reports on police enforcement operations, including trespass summons and arrests, and fire department assessments documenting severe structural deterioration within the mill. The meeting concluded with administrative recommendations regarding the potential extension of the emergency declaration.
