Strategy and Power
This document, a lecture transcript, analyzes the strategic implications of Artificial Intelligence 4.0 on military operations and global power dynamics, primarily focusing on the competition between the United States and China. It delves into the application of AI in battlefield decision-making and cyber warfare, examining how nations leverage AI for intelligence gathering, defense, and influence operations. The analysis contrasts the US's market-driven, innovation-focused approach with China's state-controlled, military-centric strategy, highlighting their respective advantages and challenges. The discussion also raises critical questions about AI's role in escalation, deterrence, the necessity of human involvement in decision-making, and challenges related to attribution in cyber conflict.
