Santa Cruz County Board Of Supervisors Public Meeting
The board discussed Proposition 417, a measure proposing a permanent base adjustment to the county's expenditure limit to support economic growth and necessary public services. The presentation emphasized that the proposition is not a new tax and would not increase tax rates, but would instead provide the county with greater spending authority for mandated services and infrastructure. The discussion covered the history of the expenditure limit, comparisons to other Arizona counties, and the potential impact on future service delivery if the measure fails, such as the risk to non-mandated services like parks and libraries.
