The board met for a budget workshop to review and discuss the proposed Annual Operating and Capital Budgets for the 2026-2027 fiscal year. The meeting also included a discussion regarding board goals for the upcoming fiscal year. Furthermore, the agenda included a closed session to confer with legal counsel regarding existing and anticipated litigation, as well as a conference with real property negotiators regarding the price and terms of payment for property located at 19901 San Ramon Valley Boulevard.

During the open session, the Board authorized the Fire Chief to enter into a professional services agreement with Meyers Nave for legal services related to the Station 39 land acquisition. Additionally, the Board received and acknowledged letters of appreciation from the community and reviewed monthly activity reports from various departments, including Operations, Training, EMS, Community Risk Reduction, Fleet and Facilities, Communications and Technology, Human Resources, and Finance.

The committee reviewed an investment and investment policy update, discussed opening an additional LAIF investment account, and examined financing options for station improvements. Additionally, the committee reviewed the purchasing policy, discussed development impact fees, received an update on unfunded liabilities, and reviewed the budget overview for the upcoming fiscal year. Previous discussions also included investment recommendations for transitioning funds to Chandler Asset Management upon maturity of existing investments and proposed updates to the fund balance reserve policy regarding unfunded liabilities.

The board discussed several items including training on preventing workplace harassment and discrimination. Financial matters involved the review of the demand register, payroll taxes, and retirement contributions, alongside an updated District Investment Policy. Additionally, the meeting addressed personnel actions such as new hires and promotions, contract approvals for cell tower relocation and code compliance services, the purchase of turnout gear, and recognition of iQuest students. The board also reviewed monthly activity reports from various divisions, discussed board goals, and held a closed session regarding potential litigation and real property negotiations.
