The applicant addressed the seven zoning standards, emphasizing that the proposed construction is consistent with neighboring properties and would avoid potential hardships related to rear yard setbacks. The Board also reviewed the status of the plans and confirmed the property's location outside of the historic district.

The Plan Commission reviewed and approved a Design Review and Sign Permit for a multi-tenant ground sign at 710 N. York Road. Additionally, a Special Use Permit was approved to establish a physical fitness facility and health spa for Sage Wellness Sanctuary at 777 N. York Road, Unit 23. The Commission also reviewed and approved a sign permit application for a permanent window sign for the Hinsdale Barbershop located at 20 W. Hinsdale Avenue.

The commission reviewed and approved findings and recommendations for a special use permit amendment for Shred415 Hinsdale, LLC to change its first class time, and for a site plan review for the Hinsdale Animal Hospital. Additionally, the commission scheduled public hearings for a special use permit for a fitness studio at 5819 S. Madison St. and for a residential planned development by Hinsdale Meadows Venture, LLC at 55th St./County Line Road.

The commission reviewed events, business updates, analytics, sales tax data, and marketing campaigns. Discussions included the event calendar, business vacancy and openings, retail and office vacancy rates, and sales tax revenue growth. The commission also finalized a logo and promotional video for Restaurant Week 2026, reviewed marketing performance metrics for the event, and evaluated options for holiday lighting installations. Additionally, updates were provided on the Downtown Traffic and Pedestrian Safety Study and planning for the 250th Anniversary of America.

The Board discussed a permit request for the removal of a mature white oak tree located on public right-of-way and church property at 201 N. Oak Street. The discussion centered on the health of the tree, its potential impact on accessibility improvements for the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, and constraints related to existing utility infrastructure. Ultimately, the Board voted to approve the removal of the tree and agreed to waive the associated tree removal fee, contingent upon the applicant coordinating a replacement tree planting plan with the Village.
