The board meeting featured several key items, including a proclamation for Autism Acceptance Month and a presentation by the Autism Hero Project regarding the Blue Envelope Program. Additionally, the board recognized the local wastewater treatment facility for receiving a state-level award and officially introduced and pinned the badge for a newly promoted police sergeant. The meeting concluded with the board approving various administrative appointments and a series of items on the consent agenda.

The commission conducted public hearings regarding a preliminary PUD and plat of subdivision for Fox Valley Church, an amendment to the Madison Commercial Unit 1 subdivision plat, and re-zoning and variation requests for six new single-family homes on Alameda Drive. All items were recommended for approval. Additionally, the commission received updates on local development projects, including the remodeling of Village Hall and progress on the Iron Flats project.

The commission conducted a public meeting to review and approve the resolution for adopting the 2026 meeting schedule. Additionally, communication was provided regarding the anticipated date for the next commission meeting.

The commission held public hearings and recommended approval for a special use permit for a massage establishment, a final PUD amendment for ACME Industrial Company, Inc., and a preliminary/final PUD and re-zoning for the Starville Manor senior housing development. Additionally, a staff update was provided regarding various development projects within the village.

The Commission discussed various department updates including progress reports on probationary firefighters and police officers, hiring process developments, and background checks for lateral candidates. The Commission approved changes to the Rules and Regulations regarding the termination of probationary appointments and authorized the initiation of a hiring process to establish a new police eligibility list. Additionally, an executive session was held to address personnel matters.
