Tillamook County Board Of Commissioners Board Meeting

The meeting covered a variety of regional updates, including an emphasis on emergency preparedness during the designated awareness month. Reports were provided on upcoming federal rule changes to the Oregon Health Plan, which will require members to update contact information and potentially navigate new verification requirements. Health officials also reported an increase in positive rabies cases in local animal populations and provided guidance on exposure prevention. Legislative updates included discussions on wildfire season funding gaps, the need for transportation infrastructure improvements following highway accidents, and legislative concepts for future sessions. Additional topics included the startup of new machinery at the Wauna Mill, updates on the Southern Flow Corridor project, efforts to improve local seafood processing and availability, and the positive impact of the Tillamook Bay Community College on the community.
