Radner Township Town Hall
The meeting focused on the search for a new location for the Magisterial District Court within the township. Key discussion points included the importance of maintaining a local court to optimize police operations by reducing travel time and overtime, as well as preserving local voting power regarding judicial representation. Challenges associated with securing a suitable site were highlighted, including criteria such as square footage requirements, ADA accessibility, parking availability, and rent affordability relative to high local commercial rates. The township clarified that they are no longer pursuing the previously proposed site and encouraged the public to provide suggestions for future potential locations.
The board discussed appeal number 3268 regarding a property on Barley Cone Lane. The applicants sought a variance from the zoning ordinance to construct a single-story addition to their home. Key discussion points included the removal of an existing non-conforming shed, the need for the addition to improve accessibility for elderly family members, the minimization of impervious coverage through landscape improvements, and the lack of alternative feasible locations for the addition. An expert architect testified in support of the proposal, and neighbors were granted party status and questioned the applicants.
