The strategic plan for Amelia County Public Schools outlines a comprehensive roadmap centered on six core strategies: fostering innovative and inclusive curriculum and instruction; developing a robust support system for students' mental, social, emotional, and physical well-being; strengthening community partnerships; integrating advanced technology systems; and attracting, developing, and retaining highly qualified team members. The plan emphasizes optimizing critical thinking, 21st-century learning experiences, culturally responsive education, personalized student support, enhanced communication, and continuous operational improvement.

The revised budget reflects a total increase of 1.7% over the FY23 budget. The budget goals include providing a minimum of a 1 step increase for all staff aimed at addressing the increase in the cost of living, increasing course offerings for students, ensuring fiscal integrity, keeping health insurance costs low, valuing, honoring, and supporting human resources, considering one mental health day per employee and planning for Career and Technical Education in budget discussions. The budget process began in October with approval of the budget calendar. During November, budget input was received and in December meetings were held with principals and directors. Public input on the budget is obtained in January and February. Budget work sessions are conducted in February with school board approval of the budget proposal in March. Final approval of the budget occurs in April.

The Amelia County School Board reviewed and approved various financial transactions. These included payments for classroom and office supplies, services such as windshield repair, postage, and HVAC maintenance, as well as larger expenses like roof repairs, gym floor refinishing, and tuition for The Governor's School. Additional expenditures covered items such as gas, unemployment payments, and fees for the school messenger system. The board also approved payments for keynote speakers and June services.
