The City Commission meeting included discussions and actions on several topics. There was a public comment session where a representative from Big Brothers Big Sisters requested funding, and a high school representative discussed youth engagement. The commission proclaimed November 17th through 21st, 2025, as American Education Week in Garden City, Kansas. The city manager's report was reviewed, and the commission approved appropriation ordinance number 2598-2025A. Additionally, they considered and approved annexing land owned by the city, known as the Jarmmer Water Well property, under ordinance number 3029-2025.

The meeting included a staff update and discussions on business matters, including a community grant application update and member-introduced items. The 2026 Community Grant Application Draft and alternative evaluation criteria were reviewed. Additionally, there was a discussion regarding the appointment of a board member to the CIP Committee and a review of the 2025 Annual Report Form Draft.

The meeting involved consideration of petitions, memorials, and remonstrances, including a proclamation for Match Day. Reports were presented from various departments, such as Parks and Recreation, and updates were given on city-wide performance management, building, code enforcement, police, and the Lee Richardson Zoo. Ordinances and resolutions were considered regarding fee schedules, court costs, and water and sewer rates. Discussions also covered solid waste rates, AFAC funding, and nuisance abatements. The meeting involved a public hearing to consider a variance request for constructing an accessory structure within the front yard setback at 1506 North Taylor Plaza. The board also reviewed an application from STL Horizon, LLC for a conditional use permit to construct a parking lot at 4111 E. Hwy 50, and another application from Steve E. Elpers and Jerry Valdez for a conditional use permit to operate a fitness facility at 102 N 11th Street.
