This document outlines the educational philosophy, mission, and vision for the Adams County/Ohio Valley School District. Its mission is to empower learners to become productive members of society in a safe, innovative environment, while its vision is to reimagine education, transform the future, and foster community pride. The document is built upon core beliefs emphasizing student capability, challenging instruction, technology integration, accountability, a nurturing learning environment, community partnership, and high expectations. Key parameters prioritize student educational needs, health, safety, and welfare, ensuring transparent communication, community involvement in changes, and efficient resource allocation through cost/benefit analysis.

The board meeting focused on the consideration and approval of hiring a new superintendent, including the authorization for the Board President to execute the associated employment contract.

The board conducted a special meeting primarily to hold an executive session to consider the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation of a public employee or official. Additionally, the board held interviews for superintendent candidates before adjourning the session.

The board participated in a work session focusing on presentations and discussions regarding SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis, SMART goals, and departmental head reviews.

The Board of Education engaged in a student-focused governance roadmap and goal-setting work session. Key discussion topics included revisiting the 90-day governance roadmap, reviewing district support systems and student achievement data, analyzing the Ohio School Report Card, and identifying key strengths and challenges. Additionally, the board worked on drafting student-focused priority areas and specific board-level goals to guide future academic performance and student outcomes.
