The board conducted a governance meeting which included a self-assessment workshop provided by the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB). The session also included time for public comments, communications, petitions, delegations, and board announcements.

The Board convened to hold a closed session for the purpose of consulting with legal counsel regarding pending litigation, as permitted under the Open Meetings Act.

The board meeting included a presentation on the Family Empowerment Program and updates from administration regarding bond projects, contracts, budget status, grant programs, and Special Education department developments. The board also discussed the evaluation timeline for the Superintendent position, the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) Board of Directors results, and matters concerning board meeting procedures and compensation.

The board held a workshop meeting to discuss the Phase II EPA Clean School Bus Grant, specifically focusing on the procurement of electric vehicle charging equipment and software. The board approved the purchase of this equipment from Borg Warner in the amount of $233,070, contingent upon EPA non-competitive procurement authorization. The session also included a discussion on effective board meetings and provided an opportunity for open floor comments.

The board meeting included a discussion regarding the Phase I Reimagined initiative. Additionally, the board entered into a closed session to consult with legal counsel regarding litigation strategy for a specific court case and to review a written legal opinion protected under state and federal law.
