Thompson School District's Strive 2025 Strategic Plan serves as a road map, emphasizing key success factors to become a premier district. The Master Plan Committee meetings covered a range of topics including MPC parameters and objectives, capital maintenance forecasting, existing utilization and projected demographics, and learning space enhancements. The committee also discussed the Master Plan timeline, long-range needs, town planning updates, financial updates, and district trends and growth. Discussions also included options for addressing growth in the Berthoud area, a review of district trends, and an activity to discuss questions and concerns regarding utilization, choice in/out, and school capacities. The committee addressed district infrastructure and program needs, focusing on maintenance, safety, classroom enhancements, and demographic needs. The committee also discussed potential bond initiatives.

The Master Plan Committee meeting included introductions of the members, a welcome from Dr. Schaffer, and a review of MPC parameters and by-laws. The committee discussed a bond and special levy overview, existing utilization, projected demographics, and capital maintenance forecasting. An activity was conducted to review the committee's shared vision statement, learning space enhancements, timeline, and future topics. Nominations for Vice Chair were opened, with a vote scheduled for the December meeting.

The Thompson School District's Sustainability Management Plan for 2021 focuses on promoting sustainable practices through inclusive relationships and stewardship of resources. The plan outlines goals and strategies within the categories of Energy, Water, and Waste for the short-term (0-5 years), specifically from fiscal years 2021-22 to 2025-26. Key areas of focus include reducing district-wide electricity and natural gas use by 10%, installing solar energy systems on at least three sites, replacing diesel buses with electric buses, reducing water usage, decreasing trash pickup volume, and increasing recycling volume. The plan aims to empower the TSD community to be innovative leaders in sustainable choices, positively impacting current and future generations.

The meeting covered the review of the agenda, Panorama Climate & Culture Survey results, and the DAC charge. The survey included Inclusive and Supportive Culture indicators such as Sense of Belonging. Changes in student survey questions were discussed. Student SEL favorability for elementary, middle, and high school students was discussed. District goals were reviewed, focusing on students' sense of belonging. The DAC charge involved studying climate and culture survey results and making recommendations to strengthen students' sense of belonging, using an Interest Based Process.
