New business addressed the need to update Candidate Documentation, Candidate Files, and Candidate Correspondence with a structured check-off sheet and document tracking system to standardize candidate interviewing and hiring procedures. The Commission authorized a contract with I/O Solutions of Westchester for Candidate Polygraph Examination and Psychological Evaluation services. A review of the Rules and Regulations of the Westchester Fire and Police Commission was initiated, with legal counsel requested to ensure compliance with new fire department hiring legislation. A motion was passed to reschedule the September 2, 2013 meeting to September 3, 2013 due to the Labor Day holiday. Old business involved discussions regarding the Fire Department Captain Promotion Examination, which will include a review of the promotional process and test dates by I/O Solutions, with the assessment phase conducted by Illinois Fire Chiefs. The Fire Department Entry Level Examination dates and procedures are scheduled for discussion on July 29, 2013. Furthermore, the Commission was instructed by the Village Board to proceed with organizing a Police Sergeants Examination, which will be added to the July 29, 2013 agenda.
