This document outlines the San Isidro ISD Wellness Plan, designed to implement policy FFA (LOCAL) and comply with federal school wellness policy requirements. The San Isidro Independent School District's District of Innovation Plan serves as a roadmap to leverage opportunities for greater local control, increased flexibility in educational programming, and empowerment to innovate. Key focus areas include implementing a flexible calendar, adjusting teacher certification requirements, modifying class size waivers for Kinder through 4th grade, refining discipline options, and extending probationary contracts for experienced teachers. The plan aims to tailor educational practices to local community needs and enhance operational efficiency within the district.

The San Isidro School District held a public hearing and regular meeting to discuss and take action on various items. The public hearing focused on the proposed budget and tax rate for the 2025-26 school year, addressing concerns about staffing and changes to be discussed at a future Parents' Meeting. The regular meeting included discussions and possible actions on donations, the tax collector's report, expenditure reports, and financial reports. The board also addressed the approval of minutes from previous meetings, adopting a resolution on maintenance and operations tax rates, approving an RFP for fuel and LP Gas, adopting the proposed budget for the 2025/26 school year, and approving a resolution for the adopted tax rate for the 2025-26 school year. Additionally, the board discussed and took action on opting out of homeschooled students participating in UIL and extra-curricular activities, approving the student code of conduct and student handbook for 2025/26, approving a memorandum of agreement with RGV LEAD, approving an interlocal agreement for cooperative purchasing services, approving mitigation costs for a flood claim, and adopting a resolution establishing a local school library advisory council. The board also discussed membership in the South Texas School Board Association, but the motion failed. The meeting went into closed session to discuss the organizational chart, contracted employees, employee stipends, and vacant auxiliary positions, followed by actions to approve the organizational chart, contracted personnel, stipends, and advertising for vacant positions.

The meeting began with a public hearing on the proposed budget and tax rate for the 2024-2025 school year, followed by a regular board meeting. Key discussion points included the approval of minutes from previous meetings, tax collector and expenditure reports, stipend approval, adoption of the tax rate and budget for the 2024-2025 school year, approval of an RFP for fuel and LP gas, a district health report, endorsement of a candidate for the TASB Board of Directors, and discussions on various action items including EIC (Local), DC (Local), transportation and maintenance, cancellation of elections, and a contract for election services. A closed session was held to discuss the hiring of contracted personnel.

The meeting included discussion and approval of the purchase of a 15-passenger van, with considerations of training costs and vehicle maintenance. A motion to postpone discussion on EIC (Local) was passed. The meeting also included closed sessions to discuss personnel matters, including the superintendent position and applications for an interim superintendent.
