San Bernardino Valley College Education Master Plan 2016-2021
The San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC) Education Master Plan (EMP) is a comprehensive document that sets a direction for the college by envisioning the future of academics and student support. It analyzes quantitative and qualitative data to guide planning, aligning with college, district, and state-wide plans. The EMP aims to coordinate long-term goals for student learning, integrate planning across various college documents, gather input from stakeholders, promote the college's strengths, guide decision-making, and remain a regularly updated, living document. The plan includes an internal scan assessing student and employee demographics, enrollment trends, success and completion rates, and employee characteristics. An external scan assesses the demographics and characteristics of the regional community served by SBVC, including population estimates and projections, educational attainment, and median income. The plan uses data from various sources, including the SBCCD Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Research & Planning, and EMSI.
