Alameda County Water District Regular Board Meeting
The Board of Directors held a public hearing to consider adopting an ordinance prohibiting the wasteful use of water under all conditions, regardless of drought status. This ordinance updates the 2008 regulations to comply with state requirements, specifically Assembly Bill 1572 regarding the prohibition of using potable water for irrigating non-functional turf at certain commercial and institutional locations. The ordinance also clarifies provisions for customer-side leaks, enforcement tools such as flow restriction, and established processes for exceptions and appeals. A member of the public also spoke regarding National Disability Employment Awareness Month and White Cane Day, inviting the board to participate in related events.
