Institutional Biosafety Committee Minutes
The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) met via videoconference to conduct its regular business, adhering to confidentiality policies for discussions regarding protocols. The primary focus was the review and application of Recombinant or Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules Research Applications. The committee reviewed and approved numerous new and renewal protocols across various Principal Investigators (PIs), assessing biocontainment levels, facilities, procedures, and compliance with NIH Guidelines. Several protocols, including those numbered D964, D456, and D936, required modifications before receiving approval. Additionally, the committee received updates on administrative actions, including five administrative rDNA IBC protocols and six biosafety inspections performed during July. No rDNA protocols were closed, and no exempt protocols were submitted that month.
