The board meeting agenda and minutes from February 2026 addressed administrative and operational updates. Key discussion topics included financial overviews, facility progress such as construction updates on school buildings, and scheduling for upcoming calendar events. Additionally, the document contains a separate board report for the Desert Star High School, highlighting student achievements in culinary competitions, scholarship opportunities, event planning like high school prom and registration nights, and academic progress data.
The board meeting focused on the approval of a resolution necessary to authorize the high school project and the associated bond transaction. The board reviewed the proposed authorizing resolution, which was distributed to members, and subsequently voted to adopt it, allowing the project and transaction to move forward.
The agenda covered the status of financials, noting the first quarterly report was not yet received for the period ending September 30. Discussions included planning for the Thanksgiving feast, which may involve parents supplying pies, and outdoor meals due to potential delays in the gym completion. The Boom Box Parade theme is set as "Shrek the Halls," and a second float dedicated to the middle school boys' Championship Football team will be included. The annual Tree Lighting and Christmas performances will be combined and held outside. Updates were provided on the gym restoration, which is projected to be complete in two weeks, and ongoing due diligence documentation for the High School Building. Architects are preparing plans for county submission in December and February for the High School project, aiming for field completion by May 1 and building completion mid-December. No progress was reported on Dan's building pending a county plumbing inspection. The Global Commission approved DSA's full accreditation, retroactive to the 2025 school year.
