Town of Fort Francis Council Special Meeting
The council meeting focused on the potential permanent adoption of daylight saving time. Key discussions included a review of a community survey indicating strong public support for the change, coordination with other Northwest Ontario municipalities, potential safety concerns regarding children walking to school in darkness, and the implications of maintaining or deviating from time zones in neighboring jurisdictions. The council passed a resolution to support the permanent move to daylight saving time, contingent upon broader regional consensus, and planned to discuss further steps following a provincial meeting.
