This Action Plan outlines strategies to enhance Leonia as an age-friendly community, ensuring older adults can live with dignity and independence while aging in place. The plan focuses on six key areas: Housing, Communication and Information, Health Services and Community Supports, Social Inclusion, Civic Participation and Engagement, Transportation and Pedestrian Safety, and Outdoor Spaces and Buildings. It aims to adapt community services and physical environments to support the growing older adult population, with initiatives such as a teen volunteer corps, a multilingual 'Ask Anything' platform, emergency preparedness education, and promotion of accessible transportation, ultimately fostering a connected and supportive community for all ages.
