California Community Colleges Vision For Success 2022
This document, titled "Vision for Success," serves as a strategic roadmap to strengthen the California Community Colleges and address the state's educational and workforce needs. It identifies key challenges such as low student completion rates, extended time-to-completion, and persistent achievement gaps across various student demographics and regions. The plan sets ambitious system-wide goals to be achieved by 2022, including increasing the number of students earning degrees, credentials, certificates, and in-demand skills, boosting transfers to UC/CSU, decreasing excess unit accumulation, and improving employment rates for CTE students. A central focus is dedicated to significantly reducing both equity and regional achievement gaps. To accomplish these objectives, the plan is guided by seven core commitments: relentlessly focusing on students' end goals, designing services and policies with the student in mind, coupling high expectations with comprehensive support, fostering the use of data and evidence, taking ownership of goals and performance, enabling thoughtful innovation, and leading collaborative partnerships across educational systems.
