City Of London Parks And Recreation Master Plan Update 2027-2042
The City of London's Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update is a guiding document for future planning, investment, and service delivery of parks, recreation facilities, and open spaces, with a long-term horizon extending to 2042. Building upon the vision and five goals of the 2019 plan, it specifically addresses capital needs required for a growing population and increased demand. The update focuses on four key themes: modernizing park planning and delivery to ensure equitable access and a connected system with updated parkland targets; creating inclusive, flexible, and climate-resilient parks that prioritize universal design, comfort, and environmental sustainability; investing strategically in facilities to meet current and future community needs, including provision targets for emerging activities like pickleball and cricket, and expanding multi-use recreation centers and essential amenities; and fostering collaboration with partners and ensuring financial sustainability through strategic funding.
