The Board of Education hosted a candidate forum where individuals running for positions on the board introduced themselves, shared their backgrounds, and discussed their perspectives on educational philosophy. The event addressed challenges students face in the post-pandemic era, including academic performance and the need for enhanced social-emotional and mental health support. Candidates also discussed the importance of transparency, community involvement, and ensuring that school security remains a priority for the district.

This document provides a capital project update for the Yorktown School District, outlining a bond referendum to address critical facility needs and improvements across all schools. The key focus areas include kindergarten and third-grade classroom additions at elementary schools (Brookside, Mohansic, Crompond), renovation of art, music, home careers, and science labs at middle and high schools, and upgrades to athletic fields. The project aims to accommodate enrollment growth, enhance learning environments, improve accessibility, and maintain fiscal responsibility with Proposition One designed to have no additional tax impact, ensuring high-quality education and modern facilities for the community.
