The City Council meeting included a public hearing on the proposed FY2027 budget. Key actions included the adoption of the 2026-2036 Comprehensive Plan, the passage of the FY2027 budget, and the approval of two TIF 3 redevelopment agreements for building improvements. Council members also approved ordinance amendments related to traffic flow on N. Washington Street and updated limited parking regulations. Additionally, the council awarded the FY2027 chemical supply contracts, approved a new tot feature for the Aquatic Center, addressed the sale of industrial park property, and authorized highway authority agreements for an environmental cleanup project. The council also rescinded a previous contract with Flock and addressed a labor union contract.

The council meeting addressed several municipal matters, including the declaration of April as Sexual Assault Awareness and Child Abuse Prevention Month. The council approved the purchase of natural gas from PEFA, Inc. and received an update on the electrical aggregation program. Additionally, the council authorized the use of Bryan Memorial Park for a disc golf tournament and approved a professional services agreement for water system improvements. The budget for the upcoming fiscal year was presented for the first time. The council also accepted the resignations of the Emergency Management Director and Deputy Director, and subsequently appointed new individuals to fill those vacancies.
