The meeting included an update on the progress of 7th-grade students, highlighting the positive impact of high school students assisting in middle school classrooms through peer tutoring and the WIN Leadership mentorship program. The Leadership Class shared an overview of their work and accomplishments, including the Erie Canal follow-up project and their involvement in community and school events. The Board addressed resignations, transportation, substitutes, student worker appointments, and coaching assignments. They also reviewed policies, rescinded certain policies, and approved a policy revision. The Board authorized participation in the RIC ONE ROC agreement for Ed Law 2-D compliant privacy Agreement. The Student Board Representative presented a report, highlighting the achievements of various athletic teams and the music department. An executive session was held to discuss negotiations and personnel matters.

The Board of Education convened for a regular meeting, during which they discussed collective negotiations in an executive session. Key actions included approving the September 2025 Treasurer's Report, authorizing documentation for unpaid school taxes, and accepting the resignation of a bus driver. The board approved the appointment of an Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and made several other appointments, including a cafeteria monitor, cleaner, substitute administrator, audio-visual technician, and a modified boys basketball coach. The Lyons Board of Education held a regular meeting where they discussed proposals for the 2026 Graduation. The board addressed various personnel matters, including resignations, retirements, reassignments, and probationary appointments for positions such as bus monitor, bus driver, cafeteria monitor, and teachers. They also approved substitute teaching appointments, teacher mentor appointments, and athletic coaching appointments for the 2025-2026 season. Additional appointments were made for positions such as Family and Community Workshop Coordinator and Uplifting Students Coach. The board approved workers for the Lyons After School Program and Family and Community Workshop Events. Other topics included security clearance, continuation of employment, termination of a probationary educator, student teaching, outside agencies, transportation requests, non-resident school requests, and a policy number correction. The Capital Project Team provided an update on the current status of the capital project. The Student Board Representative reported on Homecoming, Open House, Youth Football Night, Golf Team, Lyons Fire Department visit, Soccer & Volleyball Teacher Appreciation Night events, Career & College Readiness, and Elementary Recognition.

The meeting included the appointment of a new board member, a presentation on Operation Gratitude, and reports from the Treasurer and Extracurricular Treasurer. The board approved 52-week probationary appointments, probationary teaching appointments, a mental health intern, a speech & language appointment, and a substitute appointment. Extra-curricular and Lyons Afterschool Program appointments were also approved. The board accepted a resignation, approved several policies, rescinded a non-public school transportation approval, and adopted the 2025-2026 District Safety Plan. The Student Board Representative provided a report, and the board entered and exited an Executive Session.
