The event, identified as the Winter Quarter Town Hall, included remarks from President Jenny Martin, who welcomed attendees and noted the meeting was being recorded. A land acknowledgement was provided, respecting the traditional and sacred homelands of the Spokane, Colville, Kalispel, and Nez Perce tribes. Chancellor Kevin Brockbank, joined by Board of Trustees Chair Todd Woodard, discussed the board's primary focus areas, including long-term financial sustainability and the fiduciary responsibility to the community. The board is also focused on policy review and development, such as updating social media policy, and ensuring agenda items align with the strategic plan. Trustee Woodard provided background on his career in marketing and public affairs, his involvement with the college foundation, and detailed the roles of the five trustees, highlighting their shared commitment to high-level instruction and policy governance.
