The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a crucial component of the SACS accreditation process, designed to enhance academic reading skills and comprehension among undergraduate students. The plan utilizes a three-tier model, providing universal research-based reading strategies (Tier 1), peer tutoring and faculty support for a targeted group (Tier 2), and individualized AI-powered and peer tutoring for students requiring the highest level of support, such as international students or non-native English speakers (Tier 3). A core element is a custom AI model that acts as an adaptive reading coach, guiding students through reading strategies and text analysis, while ensuring data privacy and continuous improvement based on user feedback. The initiative aims to cultivate AI literacy and deliver personalized learning support to improve student success and future employability.
