The meeting included the proclamation of LGBTQIA+ Pride Month and the approval of various financial and administrative items. The council reviewed and discussed the Community Services Cost of Service Study, resulting in the approval of updated user fees for community services, tennis and pickleball court rentals, sports field rentals, park permits, and special event permits. Additionally, the council approved a project for fiscal year 2026-27 to be funded by the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.

The City Council held a budget study session which included presentations from HdL Companies on property tax trends, business license administration services, and statewide/local sales tax forecasts. The Council also adopted a new Debt Management and Disclosure Policy. Additionally, the Council reviewed the proposed Fiscal Year 2026-2027 budget, which projects a balanced budget with a modest operating surplus, and directed staff to prepare the final budget for an upcoming public hearing. A closed session regarding labor negotiations was also held.

The meeting included several proclamations declaring May 2026 as Mental Health Awareness Month and Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month, as well as designating specific weeks for National Kids to Parks Day and National Police Week. The Council adopted a resolution to receive Proposition C local return funds from the City of Rolling Hills for transportation projects. Under new business, the Council awarded a public works contract to Sequel Contractors, Inc. for intersection capacity improvements and approved a new policy regarding Brown Act open meeting requirements. Additionally, the Council held a closed session to discuss existing litigation.
