The Aspire 2027: Pathways to Opportunities strategic plan for Southside Virginia Community College focuses on five key areas: Student Success (increasing enrollment from underrepresented populations, enhancing onboarding, improving retention and completion rates, and increasing student engagement); Teaching & Learning (evaluating and updating academic and workforce programs, strengthening dual enrollment partnerships, aligning curriculum with employer needs, and embracing emerging technologies); Community Engagement (collaborating with partners to promote economic vitality, expanding community engagement to improve student success and workforce readiness, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive campus culture); Our People (providing professional development, maintaining a positive work environment, recruiting and retaining qualified employees, and fostering collaboration); and Our Resources (improving resource efficiency, expanding the donor base, increasing grant funding, advocating for increased funding, and securing resources for student success and workforce development initiatives). The plan aims to promote individual prosperity, prepare students for career and transfer opportunities, improve economic opportunities in the service region, and maintain the college's status as a premier workplace.
