The board discussed modifications and recommendations to the CEDS, including input from Yankton Johnson of Moon Lake Electric and Mike Hyde of Duchesne County Community Development. The goal was to approve the document in advance of the September 30, 2023, deadline, which is essential for applying for federal funding through the Department of Commerce. The board also discussed the importance of updating the CEDS every five years and its role in the State of Utah's new statewide Economic Development Strategy. Additionally, there was a discussion about land use goals and a statewide survey to unify the vision for Utah's growth.
