The strategic plan for Overton County Schools is designed to prepare every student for success in college, career, and life by providing an inclusive, high-quality educational experience that fosters academic achievement, personal growth, and civic responsibility. The plan is structured around three core goals: enhancing academics and student readiness, recruiting and retaining high-quality educators, and strengthening operational support, safety, and student well-being.

The board meeting addressed the approval of certified and non-certified substitute teacher rates, setting them at 60% and 40% of the beginning teacher pay, respectively. It also outlined the beginning teacher's salary with a Bachelor's degree and zero years of experience for the 2025-2026 school year. Additionally, it referenced the support staff sub rates available on the support staff pay scale.

The meeting included discussions on school nutrition bid renewals, approval of school nutrition bids under the Upper Cumberland Regional Buying Group, and several FY25 revisions.
