The strategic plan is focused on empowering the university to control its destiny, build on its excellence, and accelerate specific changes. The goal is for UW-Eau Claire to become a premier institution, known for exemplary healthcare education, and to attract motivated students. The plan prioritizes transformative efforts with the greatest potential impact, focusing on three change pillars: academic excellence and belonging, national leadership in healthcare education, and creating multiple pathways for students. The guidepost goals include increasing student enrollment, achieving 100% student participation in active-learning experiences, improving retention and graduation rates, and eliminating opportunity gaps.

The 2025 Academic Strategic Plan for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire centers on enhancing the teaching and learning experience. Key areas of focus include promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in learning outcomes, expanding access to experiential and high-impact practices, and examining policies and procedures to promote equity and efficiency across the division.
